ABSTRACT BOTANICALS
The Stem Series is an ever-evolving collection of paintings developed in 2020. The idea was simple: beautiful stems and leaves that deserve to be preserved forever as art.
About Me
I'm a Texas-born artist and creative currently based in my hometown of Brenham. I studied business and advertising at the University of Texas at Austin, but painting and design have always been my true passions. I believe creativity is all about connecting the seemingly unconnected—and that idea drives everything I do.
During the pandemic, I developed my signature "abstract botanical" style, inspired by nature and the intricate beauty of hand-painted wallpapers like de Gournay and Gracie. I release a few new collections each year for the Round Top Antique Shows and take on select commissions, now also available online. Outside the studio, I love interior design, antique hunting, volunteering with Young Life, and spending time with my husband and our two dogs, Caesar and Sully.
How it's Made
ORGANIC BUT DELICATE
When struck by the beautiful organic shape of a flower, leaf, or entire stem, I press it into paper or canvas, where I paint several layers of thoughtful color. Once the paint is dried, she removes the stems to reveal a lovely and perfectly imperfect relief from the leaves.
